o Bikram Yoga: Conceptualized by Mr. Bikram Choudhury, it is also called hot yoga. It includes practicing 26 asanas and 2 breathing exercises in sequence. The special thing is that you have to exercise in a heated room, at an approximate temperature of 40ËsC, with about 40% humidity. The heat helps detoxify the body through increased sweating. It improves blood circulation and gets every joint and muscle in the body back to work.

Karma Yoga: Its intention is to achieve selflessness while performing duties. By practicing karma yoga, you separate yourself from the consequences or end results of your actions. This helps you become process-oriented and focused and leads to the release of mind and soul.

Bhakti yoga: This form of yoga is usually practiced to make a person fully devoted to God. Archana, padasevana, kirtana and smarana are some of the ways of connecting with the Almighty.

Anusara yoga: Anusara means “following your heart”. Widely practiced in the United States and the United Kingdom, anusara yoga emphasizes the graceful execution of asanas. For this, certain alignment techniques are used to improve physical postures.

Kundalini yoga: Kundalini means energy that originates from the root of the spine. Kundalini yoga is a powerful form of yoga that includes pranayama, mantra, asanas, as well as bhakti yoga. It works by awakening and re-energizing the body’s seven chakras, also called the seven centers of consciousness.

There are various other forms of yoga, each catering to specific needs. Laughter yoga, heart yoga, sahaja yoga, mantra yoga, and purna yoga are popular and adapted forms that serve different needs and goals.
