Your Love Costs Love Only!

In the hectic routine of life, one must look to nature to bless the peace of the soul. Although the purpose of life is to achieve happiness, joys, love and beauty, where GOD created death to allow us to strive for eternity instead of lying idle; Their value is rarely acknowledged, but goes beyond seeking food for the stomach and looking for statues of soft flesh to satisfy their lust.

While I was coming from the office; such thoughts haunted me. In such a tone of mind and heart, I went to the bird shop to buy the beauty of nature. I entered and saw the beauty that was adorned by the sky was enclosed in iron bars. It seemed as if they had committed the most heinous crimes for which their freedom was imprisoned, or perhaps they were human crimes for which nature presented herself as a captive in place of humanity.

I dismissed such depressing thoughts and stood in front of a beautiful cage where a lark was humming and posing proudly. He only mumbled as he knew everyone was aware of his magnetic attraction and his pride reflected his appreciation of his own beauty. I smiled and touched the bars lovingly, but he turned his beak away, grinning devilishly. He convinced me that birds and humans were certainly created by the same GOD. I smiled at his gesture because it was human-like.

I asked the dealer how expensive it is? He said; “Sir! The price list is on the cage.” The lark chattered loudly; maybe he was laughing at my stupidity. I laughed at that too. But meanwhile I heard a mournful voice amplified in one note and suppressed in another. I was a strange bird; looking from the old, dusty and wooden cage with a furtive eye. I looked at him and perhaps in fear, his short broken and dull song stuck in his throat.

I ignored it and paid five hundred dollars for a lark and got a beautiful cage. His eyes watered at the sight of that unusual bird. I caught myself, my heart was pounding and I cried from the strange feeling. I approached the bird and asked the merchant what it was called. The merchant said with a smile; “sir! It’s a strange bird that someone from the north sold me five months ago for a loaf of bread. But I call it a bird that cries, because whenever a buyer goes out with a lark, a dove, an eagle, or a dove. He wears a tear in eyes.”

My heart was moved and without thinking I gave him twenty dollars and took him with me. The crying bird continued to stare at me throughout the journey until we reached my room.

I put them down, lit a cigarette, prepared a cup of coffee and sat down next to them. A lark staying in a beautiful cage and a crying bird in a wooden cage.

I took the crying bird and put it in a beautiful cage with a lark. The lark chattered loudly, flapping its wings; maybe he was welcoming a new guest. But it wasn’t like that, because he flew to the other corner. The crying bird felt uneasy, but soon adapted to it. But I certainly never saw a crying bird cry again.

After a few days I noticed that whenever I gave them food, the Lark would come and then that crying bird would approach the little food that was left. I could not see this injustice of nature. So I took them and set them free in the open. The lark and the crying bird happily flew away. I sighed with relief compounded by a strange happiness.

The next day I woke up early in the morning and saw a crying bird standing at my window and lo! He sang songs more magnetic and charming than Lark’s. While Lark remained in the gardens entertaining a thousand admirers. But to the crying bird, that was just me. His sweet songs gave me a note of love. After that he flew over my shoulder and touched her beak with my body and then flew away. I called it “love bait” that day.

Then he visited me every day tomorrow. Surely his love bought my love, while I forgot that day; I freed him.
